A Walk on the Wild Side
I was born September 12th 1978 and I am pretty sure my umbilical chord was a snake. I had what I would consider a normal childhood, I don’t remember when exactly I got my first snake but I do remember that it was a baby California King Snake and I traded it for a little key chain guitar. I had that snake for a while before getting rid of it and getting a baby Burmese Python. This was a huge mistake both for me and for my parents allowing it however I think that snake was the animal that molded me into the person I am today so I wouldn’t change it. After 2 attacks from the Python though I got rid of her. I sent a long time after that just being a teenager and not really keeping any reptiles save for a brief stint with a Hognose.
Fast forward through meaningless years and you find me 14 years ago after meeting my wife and finding she to had a passion for reptile that I got back into the hobby fairly big time. From that point for the most part I never looked back, In 2006 I started breeding snakes as well as produce a community based website where I did the daily news in the community forum. I always wanted to do something big with my life and make a difference so in March 2010 Daily Reptile News became its own entity. Since then I have come a long way in providing the reptile and amphibian news both from the website as well as on my youtube show. I still have many other ambitions in life that go far beyond DRN but I look forward for being known for DRN and hope you all follow me into the future as I attempt to change the world.

In the next couple of days there will be a lot going on not only in my home but in life in general. Starting in 12 minutes from this second the anniversary of the attacks on our country will start. On September 11th 2001 I was awoken by a very good friend asking me if I Was watching TV. I always hated this because it was around 8-9AM PST and at 4AM I was loading someone in an Ambulance, on September 11th 2001 I was a Fire Fighter. I will never forget it, it was a Tuesday, the first time in history our normal Tuesday meeting at the fire house was canceled. I did not stay in the field much longer after that, I think in fact I quit before the years end. On Wednesday September 12th 2001 I turned 23 years old, yes again The attacks happened the day before my 23rd Birthday, This year that falls on this coming Monday. In my thoughts on Sunday will be not only the 341 Fire Fighters, 2 Paramedics, 23 Police Officers, 37 Port Authority Officers and 8 EMT’s but all the 2,996 people that died that day, half which were never identified as well as the 54,800 Americans that have been killed or injured in the war on terror thus far. That being said I wish no one to wish me a happy birthday but rather wish all those people rest in peace, take a trip to your local Fire House or Police Department and tell them thank you. Do something for your community, do something positive for the reptile community.

So a lot of people have noticed that the show has not run this week yet. This was done for a reason. I am currently reworking the concept and moving the whole thing into the future. I had a three hour meeting today about this very topic and it was just necessary to take some extra time off to work on this stuff. I am not yet letting the cat out of the bag as far as the new ideas that have been floating around these meetings but they are super awesome and mean big things for the future of DRN as well as the future of a new reptile venture that will come to light very very soon.
In other news I have been giving a lot of thought to this very blog and wandering if I should shut it down or not. Many of you already know that I am not a writer at all and find it very hard to come across the right way while typing. I am much more at home in front of a camera so I was thinking about just utilizing the reptivlog account more often and this blog less often. I may even incorporate the two of them with a vlog and a little text here on these pages. These thoughts are of a very low priority when compared to everything ells so a final decision will probably still be a month or so out still.
I am super excited about all the options and ideas floating around but unfortunately all the work that is going on means tomorrows show will be missing as well. I am trying to have everything on par for Fridays show although may still not announce anything by then. Thank you everyone for the continued support for all this time. The future is looking like a ton of fun from where I am standing.
